EFSAS delegation meets Policy Advisors at the European Parliament in Brussels

EFSAS delegation consisting of Mr. Junaid Qureshi (Director EFSAS) and Mr. Dušan Vejinović (Senior Research Analyst) held a meeting at the European Parliament in Brussels with several Policy Advisors of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR Group), namely Mr. Jason Wiseman (Special Advisor on Counter-Terrorism), Walter van Luik (Policy Advisor), Richard Hazlewood (Policy Advisor) and Ms. Elise Coolegem (Policy Advisor on the Middle East & North Africa).

During the meeting EFSAS discussed the human right violations in South Asia, the growing radicalization amongst youth in Jammu & Kashmir, the construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the eminent threat of Terrorism in this region and especially the expansion of the Islamic State (IS), from which Europe has already encountered several attacks in the past.

Furthermore, the Policy Advisors of the ECR Group invited EFSAS to present their views and expertise in spheres, such as counter-terrorism, expansion of IS and the current volatile situation in the whole of South Asia in order to support the European Parliament Committees and other parliamentary bodies in shaping legislation and exercising democratic scrutiny over European Union external and internal policies.
