Mr. Tariq Shah - Constitutional and Human Rights Advocate at the Peshawar High Court in Pakistan, and Secretary for Youth Affairs of the Awami National Party in Pakistan. Mr. Shah stressed that under international law, Afghan refugees cannot be forcefully repatriated. He also highlighted that the Pakistani authorities have received funds from the United Nations in order to take care of these refugees, and the caretaker government, under Pakistani law, has no mandate to make such a decision, because the Parliament is not in session. As a lawyer, Mr. Shah considers the new reform illegal, and calls it “a clear violation of international law”.
